Now, Sean and I aren't very "into" Halloween. We don't get dressed up or go to crazy monster mashes, or anything like that. But, for the past 2 Halloweens we have helped out at a haunted house. A friend of a friend (how do you like that connection) does this elaborate haunted house for tricker treaters every year at his house. It's pretty insane--he definitely goes all out. So, we dressed all in black and were assigned to be in the "mask room." There were glow-in-the-dark masks and we jumped out and scared kids. Overall it was pretty fun.
Now, I did realize that there were different types of kids that came through. The funniest were girls in the 5th or 6th grade (they screamed the loudest). The lamest ones were the boys (normally middle school age--go figure) who thought they were too cool to be spooked. Some of them would use their cellphones as flashlights so they could see who was trying to scare them. Talk about lame--what is the point of going through a haunted house if you try to find all the people that are trying to jump out at you. It totally defeats the purpose. Oh well-- it was still pretty fun. Hopefully next year the annoying kids will just stay home.
