10 Months!

Why yes, she did take a bite out of her 10 month sign.
Oh how the time flies.  Madeline is another month older--it's hard to believe.  Here's the scoop on Madeline this month:
  • Is constantly on the move.  She is really fast at crawling and is a pro walking with the help of something (e.g. walls, furniture, people).  She barely stops the entire time she's awake.  Heck, she even moves while she's sleeping.
  • Diaper/clothing changes have become a wrestling match because of the constant moving.
  • Will stand by herself for a few seconds at a time.
  • Has the most expressive feet.  This has been true for months, but I kept forgetting to write about it.  When she gets excited she sticks her feet straight out and starts spreading and curling her toes.  I don't know if that makes sense, but it's really cute.
  • Has become a picky eater.  This does not just concern what food she eats, but where she eats it and what temperature it is.  She prefers almost all food cold (even meat and vegetables).  If she's in her high chair she'll pretty much only eat Cheerios, yogurt, or whatever we're eating (most of the time).  If I give her a finger food she doesn't recognize while she's in her high chair she'll throw it overboard without trying it (every.single.time--it drives me crazy).  If she's sitting on the ground or in a high chair at a restaurant she'll eat pretty much anything.
  • Takes 2 naps that are 1.5-2 hours each day.  This makes me so happy.  She hardly ever took a nap longer than 40 minutes until this last month or so.  And she's sleeping great at night (about 10 hours).
  • Will sit up on her knees and put her arms straight up when she wants to be picked up.
  • Favorite book is currently Tails by Matthew Van Fleet.
  • Takes a long time for her to warm up to new things.  Last month I mentioned how she was scared of grass, sand, and geese.  She has now warmed up to both grass and sand (we haven't been honked at by a gaggle of geese as of late), but any water outside of the bathtub is no bueno. She's getting a little bit better, but she normally just ends up yelling at me when I bring her in the lake, pool, etc.  Oh well.
  • Is an unmaker (i.e. pulls all the books off the bookshelf, takes everything out of my wallet, takes everything off my bedside table, takes everything out of the cupboards...you get the picture).
  • LOVES playing peek-a-boo.
  • Is becoming quite the daddy's girl.  She crawls as fast as she can to the door when he comes home and loves it when he comes and gets her when she wakes up.  She tries to follow him out the door when he leaves.
  • Waves bye-bye, but to herself instead of the person leaving.
  • Is learning so much every day.  And gets cuter every day.  I didn't think that was possible.

In general, this is how she feels about water in "nature."
