Our little girl is now six months old. I can't believe that half a year has already passed. She is growing and learning every day; she is so much fun to watch. Here are some of the things that she's doing.
 |
| Sneaking in some computer time. |
 |
| So excited to finally have a high chair. |
 |
| Paper tastes so, so good. |
- Is 25.6 inches long (34%), 16 lbs. (40%), and her head circumference is 17.17 inches (74%).
- Rolls to get places. She hasn't figured out that she can roll in both directions, so she often gets stopped by the ottoman or couch. She also doesn't like rolling on the wood floor, so she stays to the carpeted area.
- Loves solids. In addition to oatmeal and rice cereal we've given her carrots, green beans, and sweet potatoes. She loves them all. We had to stop using bibs while feeding her solids because she was getting too excited and would get food EVERYWHERE. She stays remarkably clean without a bib.
- Love sitting in her high chair.
- Loves water and loves to splash. I get soaked every time I give her a bath. She loves bath time so much that I actually feel bad taking her out. She really enjoyed her first swimming experience at a pool.
- Grabs everything in sight. And stuffs everything in her mouth. Her coordination has gotten much, much better.
- Loves banging on the keyboard of the computer. She gets really excited every time she sees it and gets mad if we don't let her play with it.
- Gets mad if we take something away that she wants to play with.
- Has a favorite toy; she gets really excited every time we give it to her.
- Stranger anxiety has started. Her fake cry has also gotten more impressive (and much louder).
- Was sleeping great (8 to 11.5 hours a night) until a week ago. We're now trying to get her back to her old schedule.
- Can sit on her own and prefers sitting over lying down.
- Loves her jumperoo.
- Holds on to us when we're holding her. She also sometimes gives hugs. And licks us when we kiss her.
- Pants like a dog when she gets really excited (I'm not sure where she learned that).
- Is very, very vocal.
- Love music. If she's upset, most of the time we can placate her by singing.
- Has the sweetest smile on the planet.
She's at such an interactive, fun age. In some ways it's sad that our baby is no longer a newborn, but this stage is so much fun. We love watching her learn and grow.

As the boys get older, I often find myself saying "no, now THIS is my favorite stage!" They really just get to be more fun the older and more interactive they get!
Precious! Look at those eyes! I can't wait until Hannah can interact like Madeline :)
