Well, another month has come and gone! Madeline is now 5 months old. Here are some things about our little girl:
- She gained over 2 pounds in a month! The doctor had us come in for a weight check since her weight gained slowed at her 4 month appointment. Madeline made up for that and now weighs 14.76 pounds (63%). They didn't measure her so we won't know how tall she is until next month. The doctor did say she's really strong for her age and is developing really well.
- Decided she no longer likes rolling over. She had a few weeks when she would roll over every single time we put her on her stomach. She now isn't rolling over at all. She will stay on her stomach for about 20 minutes before squawking, which is great. She is getting closer to rolling onto her stomach from her back. She did it once, but she used the ottoman to do it (she uses her resources).
- Is sleeping through the night again! The trip back from Europe threw her way off schedule and it took a few weeks to get her back. She's now sleeping at least 8 hours a night (and it's usually more like 10).
- Still loves rice cereal. And chewing on spoons. We haven't given her anything else yet (we're waiting until 6 months to introduce other foods).
- Has started to grab everything. And then promptly put it in her mouth.
- Grabs my hair like it's a security blanket.
- Absolutely loves sucking her thumb. And sleeping with her hands covering her face. It's really cute.
- Loves to stand and sit (with assistance of course). Her balance is getting better so she can sit for a couple seconds (sometimes) without toppling over.
- Still loves to be read to. The Barnyard Dance stands at the top of her list, followed closely by Green Eggs and Ham.
- Loves being in water. While in the bath she kicks her legs and waves her arms to splash. When in the shower she leans her head back so she can look directly into the water with her eyes open.
- Loves to snuggle (sometimes) and I love it.
- Is getting cuter and cuter (something I didn't believe possible) every single day.
