Past Happenings

So, I'm really not a very good blogger. But, I'm going to try to do better, so I figure it's time to catch everyone up on what we've been up to since Thanksgiving.

Finals went well for both Sean and me. We did well in all of our classes--it's crazy to think that I only have ONE more finals week left! I can't say that I'm not excited either. After finals, we stuck around for a couple of days to go to a few weddings. Unfortunately, I didn't bring my camera, so I can't post any pictures. On Friday, December 18th we went to a reception for two people that served in my mission, Alyona and Spencer Collard. It was a beautiful reception and it was good to see a lot of people from my mission! On Saturday, we went to two sealings and one reception. The first sealing was for Ben and Elise Bowen (Ben served with Sean in Slovakia) in the Draper, UT temple. The Draper temple is gorgeous! It was built fairly recently and I hadn't been there yet. The next sealing was for Isaiah and Rachel Zirkle in the Salt Lake Temple. We later went to their reception up in Salt Lake. It was in this beautiful mansion--it was a lot of fun to see the whole Zirkle family again.

The next day (Sunday December 20) Chris, Sean, Jessie, and I packed in our car and drove to Spokane. The drive was uneventful (thank goodness) and it was so nice to be back in Spokane for 2 weeks! Sean's parents moved into a new house (really close to their old one) and it was a lot of fun to be there. The whole break was fantastic--spending time with family, sleeping in, skiing, etc. I loved it. Sean got to see his friends from high school- they went skiing a couple of times. And, I finally got to go skiing at Schweitzer in Sandpoint, ID! I had heard so much about it--Sean basically lived their while in High School. The weather was kind of crappy (really, really wet), but it was still fun.

After a two week break, we came back to start another semester--wahoo... Actually, it's really pretty good. We're both really busy, but we like our classes and everything seems to be going really well so far. Right before Christmas break, Sean got called to be a counselor in a single's ward bishopric, so he's been pretty busy with that. We miss our old ward, but it's fun to be in this one, too. We've even had a chance to go skiing a couple of times!

So, overall everything is going well. I'll try to be better about this so that I don't have to write 2 months worth of info at a time.

Hi Emily! I was doing a bit of blog stalking today and found your blog through Susanna's, which I found through Erin's:) We went home to Fairbanks for Christmas and got to see your parents at 3rd ward, but didn't get to chat really because the kids were needing to get home for naps. Sounds like life is going really well for you guys; are you planning on teaching after you graduate? Good luck with your last semester!

Thanks Holly! You know, I found your blog the other day through similar means--I was looking at Erin's and saw yours. Life is going pretty well here--as for what I'm going to do when I finish...that is a good question; I haven't decided if I want to teach, translate, or do something completely different. I was looking at your pictures--your boys are so cute!
