BYU Traditions Ball

This past Saturday Sean and I went to the BYU Traditions Ball. Neither of us had gone to anything like this while at BYU and we had some good friends going so we decided to give it a whirl. The ball was targeted toward "students, alumni, and friends of BYU" and was held in the Hinkley Alumni Center on campus.
We started the evening by going to dinner at Happy Sumo with Rachel, Isaiah and two of their good friends (Esther and Griffin). To the left you can see a picture of us at the restaurant. After our meal we wandered around the Riverwoods Mall until we came across the store Blickenstaffs. Blickenstaff is a candy/game store and we kept ourselves pretty entertained for the next 45 minutes or so.

The Traditions Ball really was a lot of fun. There was dancing with a live band, dance lessons for those of us who don't know what we're doing, random entertainment groups, food, photos, etc. There was a wide range of people there as well--from what looked like freshman to people who have been graduated about 50 years. The band played "classy" music, so people were mostly doing Foxtrot, Waltz, Swing, etc. It was pretty fun watching those who actually know what they were doing (opposed to those like Sean and myself...). Sean and I went to the dance lessons and then practiced the moves we learned. Haha. We now know the VERY basic steps for Latin Dancing (thanks to our Latin Dance escapade with Zach and Nikki), Swing, and the Waltz (we left the lessons before they started on foxtrot...). We're pretty much professional now.

Overall it was a lot of fun...more fun than I was expecting. I'm glad Rachel and Isaiah convinced us to go!

All of us at the Tradition's Ball.
