Mishaps

Let me preface this post by saying that Sean and I are typically are not accident prone. We're relatively cautious. But, we have had a couple of mishaps the past few weeks.

1. Sean loves mountain biking. I like mountain biking a lot, but not like Sean. Last summer he got a new mountain bike; he got it a day later than expected and was miserable that whole day. Since we have a sedan, we bought a roof-top bike rack for our mountain bikes. Our apartment complex has a parking garage. Since we moved in, Sean has been worried that one day he'll drive into the parking garage with his bike on top of the car. Well, he did just that. Amazingly, the mountain bike was absolutely fine. The car did not fare as well. You see, the bike acted like a lever, tearing the bike rack off of the car. Good thing we have good insurance; it's all better now. When Sean told me I laughed...and laughed...and laughed. I probably shouldn't have; it was lame to have to pay the deductible to get it fixed, but it was pretty funny.

2. Sean has wanted me to start cutting his hair for MONTHS. At first, I refused. I didn't not want to be responsible for messing up his hair. Eventually I broke down and agreed. I was actually impressed at how well I was doing. It looked pretty good, and it really wasn't that hard. Sean wanted me to touch up some areas and he explained to me that if I use the comb and the buzzer WITHOUT an attachment it would work just fine. It probably would work fine for some people, but it didn't for me. I gave him a little bald spot. I cried; I was way more upset than he was. It really didn't even look that bad, I was just upset that I was responsible for messing up his hair. Sean thought of the brilliant idea of putting eyeshadow over that particular spot; it really helps. It makes it far less noticeable. The craziest part about this whole thing is that he still wants me to cut his hair. Luckily, I learned from my mistake and won't do that again.

oh, yeah, the messed up hair cuts can be hard. My first guy hair cut was my dad. He likes the kinds of cuts that don't use electric clippers. It was way too short, and he ended up looking like a thin haired grandma. He was super supportive about it, though, and even tried to convince me that he thought it looked nice.

That makes me laugh about the bike rack and I wasn't even there!

Oh goodness, haha:) I understand about refusing to cut hair, you're braver than I am for finally agreeing though. Spencer has to have is hair cut all the time to meet Navy regulations and I don't want that responsibility so he started doing it himself and thankfully got me off the hook. Mishaps sure make life interesting, and most often make for funny stories to share later:)

that's so funny about the haircut!! Carl cuts his own hair with a clipper set and the only times i've tried to help because i "can see better than he can" i've totally messed it up!! i cut the hair around his ear on one side WAY too short so we had to do the same thing on the other side too. luckily as carl says, the difference between a good and bad haircut is about a week. but good for you for doing it, i just let carl do it himself. :)

Oh no!! You should take a picture if you haven't already :) Sean, good thinking with the eye shadow. I'll have to remember that if I ever give Jeremy a bald spot.
